The drama queen of Himalayan crossovers, ex-Delhi. Follow the Rupin river from Dhaula through the hanging village of Jhaka, past three-tiered waterfalls and snow bridges, to the adrenaline-pumping gully climb of Rupin Pass (15,279 ft), descending into the apple orchards of Sangla, Kinnaur.

Itinerary

Day 1: Delhi to Dhaula

Overnight drive from Delhi via Dehradun to the roadhead at Dhaula.

Day 2: Dhaula to Sewa

Gentle river-side walk to Sewa village and its unique wooden temple.

Day 3: Sewa to Jhaka

Cross into Himachal over the Rupin bridge, climb to Jhaka, the hanging village.

Day 4: Jhaka to Dhanderas Thatch

Snow bridges and fir forest into the wide waterfall valley (Saruwas Thatch).

Day 5: Dhanderas to Upper Waterfall camp

Short, steep climb beside the three-stage Rupin waterfall.

Day 6: Rupin Pass to Ronti Gad

Summit day — climb the gully to Rupin Pass (15,279 ft), long descent to Ronti Gad.

Day 7: Ronti Gad to Sangla

Descend to Sangla valley in Kinnaur, celebrate with the crew.

Day 8: Sangla to Delhi

Overnight return drive to Delhi via Shimla.
